Dear Distinguished Members of the Pleasant Valley Country Club:
Wow! Our 4th of July celebrations are over! Already! How can that be?? Summer is flying by faster than that helicopter I rode
in last Wednesday. Does anyone know how to s-l-o-w it down? If so, I welcome all serious suggestions! As you are reading
this newsletter, we will be into August! By no means does this mean that the golf season is over. We will all have time to
make a lot of pars, birdies and those other scores we don't like to write down!
Well, I have heard from some of you regarding misuse of golf carts. Unfortunately, telling your president (me), after the fact,
is not the most effective way to handle a problem.
Please exercise caution and show respect for "our" equipment at all times. This is NOT Kennywood - Golf Carts are not
Bumper Cars! Ladies and gentlemen, when you see something that should not be, feel free to walk on over to your fellow
member at that time and kindly point out some proper etiquette. Also, remember the power of good example!! We should
all be able to get along! As members sharing common interests, we should all be approachable, with whatever we need to
approach - or be approached - about.
And while I am on a roll (could you pass the butter)
Members reported that our newly-placed sand is not being raked as
we all know it should be.
When you are with your family at the beach, trudge through the sand all you want. It is fun to squish it between your toes,
bury your spouse in it - but the sand trap on the golf course - No! No! No! After you have had your best shot (or all 7 of them!),
rake the sand. This is just common courtesy for the next player. Also, divots should be fixed by those who make them, not
by members who play after them!
I know I can count on each and every one of you - old members and new members - to keep me apprised of any problems/
concerns you may have. I am always open to suggestions on how to maintain this club to remain the best in the Tri-County
area. YOU, of course, are what make it special!
May we all enjoy the "Dog Days of August" - as I said, they are going by fast!
Respectfully yours,
George "Huck" Rattay

Wow! It has been so busy here at the club that I can't believe it is August already. I hope everyone has had a chance to
try out the new menu. If not, stop by or call in for take out and let us do the cooking for you. Please take a minute to look
at our August Calendar of Events. We will be serving a $9.95 ++ dinner buffet on Wednesday evenings. Each week will
feature a different themed buffet. On Wednesday August 12th & 26th and Thursday August 20th we will be having a Bar
Bingo. This is a fun night for members to come out with your family or friends have some dinner, a couple of drinks and
play some bingo. Each game will cost $1.00 to play and the winner will receive half the take of each game. There will
also be a couple of specials to play too. Our Home Style Sunday Dinner Specials have been a BIG hit! We will be
serving these old fashion Dinners each Sunday in August except for Sunday August 30th which will feature a Brunch.
Reservations are suggested.
