Well, if you are reading this newsletter, then I will assume that you survived
yet another Christmas Season! I sincerely hope that you had a wonderful
holiday with family and friends.

A special "Thank You" to everyone who donated to the Christmas Fund this year
for our valued employees.  As always, it was truly appreciated.


Of note, we are starting a new year - 2011.  We all say that time flies by.  What
happened? Where did 2010 go to?? I know for me personally it seems like only
yesterday I graduated from high school.  That year was 1965.  Yikes!

FROM THE ENTERTAINMENT COMMITTEE

Gary Rutter's 60th Birthday Party - January 15th
On Saturday afternoon January 15th at 1:00 pm we will celebrate a special occasion for
a very special friend, Gary (The Hammer) Rutter's 60th birthday (which is January 5th).  
We will have pizza, wings and a salad buffet in the 19th Hole at the cost of $10.95++ per
person.   Cindy will need everyone to let her know by Tuesday, January 11th either by
email since PVCC will be closed, or by leaving a message on her voice mail at the club
(ext. 2).   Cindy's email address is cmcindyh01@hotmail.com .   She will be checking
messages while the club is closed.

Luck O' the Irish Party - Saturday Evening, March 19th
Our annual Night at the Races and St. Patrick's Day celebration is scheduled for
Saturday Evening March 19th.   Enjoy light wagering on the horses and a special buffet
of Irish food.   The evening will begin with cocktails at 6:00, post time 6:30.   Horses will
be for sale in the 19th Hole for $10 each, winners pay $50.   Also, we will need 6
volunteers for the betting windows - contact me at rjovan@comcast.net or 412-496-2507
if you are willing to help.   Thanks!

Pleasant Valley Ladies Association 2011 annual dues and locker rental are now due.  Please
update your information and forward (no later than February 1, 2011 to be included in the
association booklet), along with your payment ($10.00 annual dues plus $10.00 locker rental)
to Donna Malesky, Pleasant Valley Country Club, 440 Pleasant Valley Road, Connellsville, PA
15425.  Please make checks payable to Pleasant Valley Ladies Golf Association.


      

    

With a New Year comes a New Menu.   The club will reopen on Friday, January 14th with a
new menu.  We expect to be busy during opening weekend as members try to meet their
minimums.  There may be a delay on takeout orders.  Everyone is a priority to us so please
be patient.

Anyone attending Gary Rutter's Birthday party will need to make reservations with Cindy by
Tuesday, January 11th.  Just leave a message on her voice mail at 724-628-6360, ext 2.  

Sunday Brunch will be held on January 30th and February 27th.  

We will be featuring Valentine dinner specials on Friday, February 11th thru Sunday
February 13th.  Reservations are required for upstairs dining.

I know some of you are planning trips somewhere warm, if you need any assistance with
tee times, please call me, or leave a message on ext. #4.

If your grips are hard, shiny, cracked or have worn finger marks, it's probably time to replace
them.  A worn grip will tend to make you grip the club too tightly, which in turn will reduce
hand action through the swing.  Good hand action or wrist release at the proper time is the
key to longer shots, that's what makes the tour players look so effortless. 

All grip brands and styles available.
The Golf Committee and I are working on the 2011 Golf Schedule, if you have any
suggestions for club events, or know of any group(s) that would like to have an outing
please let me know as soon as possible.

TRI-COUNTY CLUB RULES:



        
1. All tee time reservations, must be made by the Golf Pros  (Matt or Donnie).
2. All players must be members of PVCC.  A current GHIN Card and Drivers License must be
    presented at time of Check-In to insure proper billing back to PVCC.
3. The association was formed to allow members (& spouses) of member clubs to use each 
    others facilities once a month for $25.00 (includes mandatory cart).  .
4. In addition to golf, participation in other club activities such as swimming, tennis, and social /
    club events will authorized based upon space availability and the host club fee structure.
