Dear Distinguished Members of the Pleasant Valley Country Club:
Just a quick update on two major projects at the club - New Shingles were installed and the Chimney was re-pointed at
the club house.
Can you believe this…the last time this was done was more than 25 Years Ago! Open house was held on November 27, 1983
(after a major fire in September of 1982 all but destroyed the club house). As they say, time really does fly!
Also, a new POS ( Point Of Sale) system will be installed - things should not only work a lot smoother at the club, but will
make office manager Marilynn's job a lot easier.
By overwhelming demand, the members who played in the "Jack and Jill" event, had such a good time, they can't wait to
have this event again. There were shots on the golf course that were hard to explain. (Marriage counseling will be available
to all members after the next event.)
On a more serious note, we do have some new members. If you have or have not played golf with them, please make
them feel welcome at Pleasant Valley Country Club. Don't let a bad day of golf by us turn them off from enjoying our club.
I want to personally thank Mr. or Mrs. Anonymous for the new TV for the 19th hole! As most of you know by now, the last
TVs at the club, as well as the washer and dryer were only "on loan."
In closing, I will leave you with this comment. I can honestly say that I was NEVER affected by the questions of the
"success of an undertaking." If I felt something was the right thing to do, I was for it, regardless of the possible outcome.

LANDSCAPE AND FLOWER PLANTING

Pool Party - Sunday July 5th
Enjoy the 4th of July weekend by attending the pool party following the Joe Williams Event on Sunday July 5th. The band
KARDAZ will be performing from 5:30 - 9:00. Please see "Chef's Comments" for the buffet menu. Whether you play in the
golf event or not, come to the poolside party. Please make reservations for the buffet.

Cindy & our staff would like to thank everyone who participated in our First Annual 19th Hole Putting contest and BBQ.
Everyone had a GREAT time. The winners of the Putting Contest were: Ryan Robson - Junior Division, Mary Mitchell -
Ladies Division & Jim Davies - Men's Division. Each received a $35 cash prize and a trophy. I would like to thank
ABC Trophies & Embroidery for graciously donating the trophies for our event. We appreciate your generosity.
Please check the July Calendar for new changes on Sunday, Tuesdays & Wednesday. Come to the 19th Hole during
the month of July and enjoy a special Milk Shake, Coffee Flavor, Dessert or Appetizer that will only be available this
month. We hope to have our new menu in place by the middle of July.
Joe Williams Golf Event & Pool Buffet will be July 5th at 5:00PM
We will be grilling pool-side. On the menu is Smokehouse Apple BBQ Boneless Chicken Breast, Marinated BBQ Flat
Iron Steak, Grille Potato & Vegetable skewers, Tossed Salad, Fruit Bowl & Homemade Apple Crisp, Iced Tea or

LADIES ASSOCIATION
The Ladies' Association of Pleasant Valley Country Club will be having a Member-Guest Tournament on Tuesday,
August 11th. This year's theme is "Come Fly With Me" The cost is $65.00 per person, the same as last year.
Registration will be in the hall outside the 19th Hole beginning at 8 am. A light breakfast will be served in the 19th
Hole beginning at 8:00 a.m. Entry forms are available on the bulletin board in the Ladies' Locker Room. The deadline
for registration is July 28, 2009.

POOL NEWS
C'mon everyone... Get out your bathing suits and come out and relax by the pool. The pool hours are 11AM to 7PM
daily - weather permitting. Please call ahead to make sure pool is open in inclement weather.
Events and parties are being planned so everyone can enjoy our facility and have a fun summer season. If you
are planning on having a Graduation Party, Birthday Party, Family Reunion or whatever the occasion might be...
why not have it at the pool.
This would be a great way to enjoy the cool and refreshing water and relax under the tent and let someone else to
the clean-up for you!
Call for reservations as soon as possible before all the dates are taken.
**Please Note: If the weather is questionable... call to confirm the pool is open for your swimming enjoyment.

FISHING DERBY
What a wonderful day The 8th Annual Fishing Derby turned out to be. Beautiful weather, great turnout, excellent food
and drinks and most importantly the kids had a great time catching fish and having fun and that is what the day is
intended to be "FUN". The committee most graciously thanks all who donated in any way to make the event possible.
This is event is totally funded by donations and does not cost PVCC anything outside setting aside the day for which
we are most appreciative to the Board.
The committee would like to thank all who participated especially the following who donated their time and financial
