Dear Distinguished Members of the Pleasant Valley Country Club:
Well my dear friends, I wanted to express a few words about the buzz going around at Pleasant
Valley Country Club. Since the recent sale of the Uniontown Country Club I have been asked
if that person is also in quest of purchasing another Country Club in the county but as far as
I know, the answer is "NO" - but hey, what do I know??
I was asked by a few members recently again about slow play in events at the club. I wish I
had the answers. My thoughts are plain and simple: just ask your fellow competitors in a nice
way to play ready golf before you tee off. If that doesn't work, think about last winter
The holiday that jump starts the summer-July 4th-(and the birth date of some very significant
individual) is just around the corner. I hope it's hot and dry.
When you travel and pack your bags consider these keys to a happy and safe trip:
· Travel lightly - unconscientiously -without due consideration
· Travel slowly - at a snail's pace
· Travel hopefully-with anticipation of the next rest stop
· Travel courteously - keep the road rage to a minimum
· Travel gracefully - pull the tops down
· Travel relaxed-however; keep your eye on the center line
· And most of all: Please do not travel without cell phones!
Enjoy your time with family and friends and have a safe, relaxing summer.
In closing, I leave you with this thought: "A perfect summer day is when the sun is shining, the
breeze is blowing, the birds are singing, and the lawn mower is broken.
In closing, I leave you with this thought: "I am willing to go anywhere, as long as it is forward!"
Sincerely,
George "Huck" Rattay

THE 9th ANNUAL FISHING DERBY
What a wonderful day The 9th Annual Fishing Derby turned out to be. Beautiful weather, great
turnout, excellent food and drinks and most importantly the kids had a great time catching fish and
having fun and that is what the day is intended to be "FUN". The committee most graciously thanks
all who donated in any way to make the event possible.
This is event is totally funded by donations and does not cost PVCC anything outside setting aside
the day for which we are most appreciative to the Board. The winner of the 50/50 ticket was Doug
McIndoe for $615.00.
The committee would like to thank all who participated especially the following who donated their
time and financial support. It would not have been a success without them: Hope I didn't miss
