Dear Distinguished Members,
April showers extended into May and our golf course certainly received its share rain.
Mark & Tom along with their crew did an outstanding job keeping the course in playing condition. When you see them please
stop by to thank them but don't hold up play.
I had an opportunity this past week to play golf in Virginia and our course and greens here are as good as any in the area.
I am pleased to announce our wine dinner was a success and it was delectable. I am looking forward to a fall dinner. Plans
are in the making. If you have any ideas on how to get our members together to have a good time, please convey those ideas
to me or any other board members.
On a more somber note, about the time you receive this newsletter, the first holiday that kicks off the summer season will be
celebrated. Fishing Derby, Pick Your Partner, Opening of the Pool will come and go. Remember that Memorial Day is to honor
those Americans heroes, all service men and women, who gave their lives to protect the country so we can enjoy the things
I mentioned above.

POOL NEWS
The pool is now open! So get out your bathing suit and come out and relax by the pool. The pool hours will be
11AM to 7PM daily - weather permitting. Please call ahead to make sure pool is open in inclement weather.
A part-time Life Guard is needed this summer. If anyone is interested or knows of someone please call Marilynn
at 724-628-6360 ext 6.
Events and parties are being planned so everyone can enjoy our facility and have a fun summer season. If you
are planning on having a Graduation Party, Birthday Party, Family Reunion or whatever the occasion might be...
why not have it at the pool.
This would be a great way to enjoy the cool and refreshing water and relax under the tent and let someone else to
the clean-up for you!
Call for reservations as soon as possible before all the dates are taken.
**Please Note: If the weather is questionable... call to confirm the pool is open for your swimming enjoyment.

"The Jack & Jill Tournament" will be played on June 7th, replacing the Summer Slam.
Format: Two Player Teams (male & female), using the Chapman System. The team's handicap,
will be the average of the two players, and will be subtracted from your total when finished.
Sign Up & Tee Times: Sign Up as 2 Player teams in the Pro Shop, if you need help finding a partner...
let us know. Tee Times for this event will be blocked off from11:30AM - 1:00PM (later if necessary).
Pairings and Tee Times will be assigned, if you have a time range preference,
mark it on the sheet and we'll do the best we can to accommodate you.
But remember... someone has to go first and last.

FROM THE CHEF
With the wine dinner being such a Great Success and the 1st Annual 19th Hole BBQ & Putting Contest
over, we are planning more exciting events for the members and their guest; such as Ladies Spa Day on
Sunday June 28th. Join us for an afternoon of pampering with your girl friends, mother, sister or daughters.
Relax with a complementary glass of wine and an elegant buffet of assorted tea sandwiches, cheeses,
fruit, dips, and assorted desserts. Then indulge in a 30 minute massage, get a facial and have your nails
done. Reservations are required.
On Tuesday June 2nd & Tuesday 16th there will be a Wing & Pizza Buffet in the 19th Hole from 6:30PM
to 9:00PM. Sign up sheet will be posted at the Pro Shop before SWATS. Wednesday June 3rd & June
17th will be Taco Night with $2.00 Draft Beer from 5PM to 8PM.
As a reminder we are now booking pool parties/picnics and graduation parties. We also do catering for
picnics, parties, etc. Call Cindy for catering prices. 724-628-6360 ext 2.

CALLING ALL JUNIOR GOLFERS!
Junior Golfers are those children or grandchildren of Pleasant Valley Country Club members who have not
yet reached their 19th birthday and are at least 7 years old. (In order for a grandchild to be eligible for the
Junior Golf program, the grandparent or guardian must first pay a fee of $100.00 directly to Pleasant Valley
Country Club.) All juniors including those who have the special junior club membership must then pay a fee
of $30.00 to the junior golf program in order to be eligible for all junior activities.
