Dear Distinguished Members of the Pleasant Valley Country Club:
Well my dear friends, this month finds me "confused" (more so than usual! Ha!) I do believe that
May has just become an extension of April with all the rain we have been having, not to mention
that the month is just flying I know I said this last month, but I am still marveling at how wonderful
the course looks!
With the Men's Invitational coming up on June 24th, 25th and 26th, what a perfect opportunity for
us to invite some prospective members and show them what a treasure we have here at PVCC.
This invitational is our "most prestigious event," and a golden opportunity for us to recruit some
new members - so please - everyone - invite that friend, relative, client, potential client, or
neighbor and help us keep our club alive and vibrant.
I hope you enjoyed your Memorial Day festivities and, even though it is over as you are reading
this newsletter, I know we all paused and remembered our service men and women fighting in
Iraq and Afghanistan to ensure OUR freedom. Think of the many things we are able to enjoy
because of their gallant efforts. And remember, all gave some, but some gave all!
In closing, I leave you with this thought: "I am willing to go anywhere, as long as it is forward!"

A reminder that the Ladies' Swats meet informally in the 19th Hole at 10:00am on both Saturdays

POOL NEWS
The pool will be opening on May 29th.
NOTE: **There will be lifeguards on duty everyday from 3 pm till 7pm, and on week-ends from
11am until 7pm until June 11, 2010. After June 11, 2010, the hours for lifeguards on duty will be
normal hours (11am - 7pm... Weather and attendance permitting)
Come to see our beautiful pool. Remember when entering the pool area please register your
family and guests. Memorial Day lifeguards will be on duty from 11 am to 7 pm
**Please note if the weather is questionable call to confirm the pool is open for your swimming enjoyment.

ROSES ROSESROSES
Last year we were able to plant rose bushes in back of the 19th Hole and on #1 tee with the
generous contributions from members. This year we would like to finish the #1 tee and start to
plant some rose bushes in the front of the Club House. If anyone would like to contribute to this
project please make your check out to Pleasant Valley Country Club and send it in to the
Business Office. Thank you.

It is hard to believe that it is June already. We have been busy planning the 2nd Annual 19th Hole
BBQ & Putting Contest. It will be held on Sunday, June 6th at 3:00 pm. This is such a fun
afternoon for everyone at the club. We will have the BBQ set up outside the 19th Hole, along with
a putting course. There will be 3 divisions - Men's, Women's and Children under 10. Trophies
will be awarded! Once again, we would like to thank Mrs. Dolfie and ABC Trophy for donating
the trophies for this year putting contest.
RESERVATIONS are REQUIRED!! The cost for Adults is $20.00++ per person, Children under
10 - $9.95++. It includes a BBQ dinner & putting fee entry.
Make your reservations early! We will be having Sunday Brunch on June 13th and a Father's Day
Buffet on Sunday June 20th.
Come out on Thursday night for a delicious Steak Dinner. Every Thursday we feature our $1.00
per ounce hand cut NY Strip steak (8 oz min.). It is served with a baked potato. Don't forget to
check your email for our weekly specials.
Make a note on your calendars. The kitchen will be closing at 1:00pm on Memorial Day and
5:00pm on Sunday, July 4th. Enjoy your Holidays!!!

1. All tee time reservations, must be made by the Golf Pros (Matt or Donnie).
2. All players must be members of PVCC. A current GHIN Card and Drivers License must be
presented at time of Check-In to insure proper billing back to PVCC.
3. The association was formed to allow members (& spouses) of member clubs to use each
others facilities once a month for $25.00 (includes mandatory cart). .
4. In addition to golf, participation in other club activities such as swimming, tennis, and social /
club events will authorized based upon space availability and the host club fee structure.

The Men's Invitational is PVCC's premier event. This is a chance to invite a friend, relative,
or client and show them a really good time for three days. The competition is fun and
competitive for players of all skill levels. In addition to golf, all participants can be assured

THE 9th ANNUAL FISHING DERBY
The 9th annual Fishing Derby will be held on Memorial Day, May 31st. You are welcome to bring
your children, grandchildren, friends and neighbors. Fishing will start at 12 noon. So bring your
fishing pole and chair and have a fun filled day. We will supply the food, drinks and prizes.
This is all funded by donations - so all and any are greatly appreciated. If you would like to send in
a donation please send the club a check made payable to Pleasant Valley Country Club or contact
one of our committee members - Casey Gilkey, Bob Colocci, Bob Locke, Paul Kendi, Mark
Outrich, Limey Williams, Merle Shields, Troy Shields, George Huck Rattay, Dick Morrow, Dan

PLEASANT VALLEY COUNTRY CLUB JUNIOR GOLF
Junio Golfers are those children or grandchildren of Pleasant Valley Country Club members who
have not yet reached their 19th birthday and are at least 7 years old. In order for a grandchild to
be elible for the Junior Golf Program, the grandparent or guardian must first pay a fee of $100
directly to Pleasant Valley Country Club. All Juniors including those who have the special Junior
membership must then pay a fee of $35 to the Junior Golf Program in order to be eligible for all
Junior Golf Activities. We are looking forward to a great year of fun... Don't Miss It!
