It seems so hard to believe that we have reached the end of summer but hopefully the great weather we have been
experiencing will carry forward into the fall. The Closing of the Greens golf event will take place on October 12th. Dinner
and awards in the ballroom will be followed by a DJ in the 19th hole. You will not want to miss this event. Chef Don and
Ian are planning an Oktoberfest celebration on October 25th and the Presidents Ball is right around the corner on Nov. 8th.
Rich Jovan is working hard to make this years Ball the best one ever. Check the calendar for all upcoming events and dont
forget to make your reservations early.
The Board of Governors has been exploring the installation of cart crossing signs along Route 982. Paul Kendi has met
with Penn Dot and I am happy to report that they have indicated that they will approve our permit for the installation of the
signs. Thanks to Paul, I believe we will be able to complete this project very soon. This should slow the traffic considerably
and enable us to cross this busy road more safely.
I would also like to thank Bert Norton for placing the memorial bricks at the entrance to the pool.
As most of you know, we have been having a difficult time controlling the temperature in the 19th hole. We have been
working with an HVAC contractor and I hope to be able to report to you next month that we have resolved this issue. Thank
you for your patience in this matter.
As another reminder, please provide your email address to Marilynn in the business office as soon as possible. This will
help us to provide you information on upcoming events on a timely basis.
Respectfully Submitted,
Dave Angelicchio

the party in the 19th Hole following dinner and the awards presentation.
Oktoberfest
On Saturday evening October 25th, the ballroom at Pleasant Valley Country Club will become a biergarten with German
food, German beer and wine and the Ray Skovenski Orchestra, a group from Avonmore, PA consisting of mostly family
members who have recorded several CDs. They are a polka band but they also play a variety of music like rock & roll
and American standards. Menu and cost are detailed in the Chefs comments below. Cocktails start at 6 pm, Dinner at
7pm. Be sure to make your reservation.
Childrens Halloween Brunch
Imaginary Friends will be at the PVCC Sunday Brunch on October 26th at 12 p.m. to entertain the children and pass out
treats. Be sure to sign up your children in advance.
Presidents Ball
Be sure to mark you calendar for Saturday evening November 8th. We will be honoring past President Barry Craig and
will be entertained by Jimmy Sapienzas Five Guys Named Moe.
Valet Parking
For evening parties such as Oktoberfest and the Presidents Ball we plan to offer valet parking. This is especially
important to our senior members who faithfully support our social activities. To make this worthwhile for the valets to
offer their time, we need to support them by using their service and tipping generously.
Reservations
All of these events require advance reservations. Not only is it a problem for the Bells to stretch the food when people
decide at the last minute to attend, but it is inconsiderate to the other members who have made reservations and cannot
get their share of the menu items. Please be considerate and make your reservations in advance.
