SEPTEMBER 2011 PVCC NEWSLETTER

Dear Distinguished Members of Pleasant Valley Country Club:

It has been another fun and exciting month at PVCC! I can't believe summer is
coming to an end and soon the kids will be back in school. We had a number of great
events in August. The ladies had a great turnout for the Ladies Member Guest but
unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate. We had a full field for the Rubber Duck
and congratulations to this years winners: Jimmy Grimm, Lee Fosbrink, Mauro
Defelice and Dave Miller. The month finished up with another successful Stag Day.

Thank you to Merle and the grounds crew as the condition of our course continues to
improve. On that note, Keith Happ is scheduled to come back on September 20th at
8am to continue his review of our golf course. All members are welcome to come and
see what Keith has to say about each hole of our course. He will be doing a hole by
hole assessment of the course and giving his suggestions on how we can improve
them for the future. I hope that all interested members come out to listen and ask any
questions you might have.

The new pool committee met and plans to send out a survey soon to find out who uses
the pool and what improvements you would like. Thank you to all who turned out at
the meeting and for taking an interest in improving our pool.

As for membership, I would like to thank Mike Tepper for agreeing to be our new
membership chairman. Mike is planning to have a meeting soon. Watch for the date
and come support him in his quest to increase membership.

I hope everyone is enjoying the new menu. I regret to inform you, that we were
unsuccessful in working out a new deal with Bell's and they have chosen to opt out
of the contract at the end of this year. I hope all of our members and staff will be
understanding during the next few months. The board is searching for a new food
purveyor and I encourage anyone who has suggestions to contact a board member.
We wish the Bell's well in their future endeavors.

I would like to inform the membership that the board has decided to take PVCC in a
bold new direction. As we continually try to improve the membership experience at
PVCC, we have decided to search for and hire by years end a club manager.
Financially, we cannot employ both a club manager and golf professional, therefore
we will not be renewing Matt Gotto's contract at the end of the year. Matt's contract
runs through the end of the year and I hope that everyone will wish him well in the
future. I would like to thank Matt for his professionalism and dedication to members
of PVCC over his many years here! I hope that our membership will help Matt liquidate
his stock in the pro shop over the next few months.

Again, as we search for a manager and food purveyor, I hope our membership and
staff will be understanding during the next few months while we make these important
transitions for the future and continued health of PVCC.

Thank you again for letting me serve as your President,

Sincerely,
Jim Davies
